On this blog, we used to post information about our visits to the border at Roxham Road, USA side. Since the closure of Roxham Road on Friday 24 March 2023, we're attempting to keep a log of the info we have about refugees who have been returned to the US. Sunday May 27, 2018. 3.45 pm - 5.15 pm Roxham Road, USA
A rainy chilly day. A total of 17 people seeking asylum crossed into Canada. First arrived two families from Sudan (three adults, two adolescents and three small children). Then came a man from Nigeria with two young children, followed by a couple from a Latin American country. Finally a woman from Angola arrived with a teenage daughter and two small children. While there volunteers spoke with an American journalist doing an indepth piece on refugees in the USA. RCMP officers kept to their protocol when intervening with each group of people who came to the border today.
